It is a great place to view the beautiful river/garden, capture some family or couple photos and to stretch the legs whilst grabbing something to drink. I had a hot chocolate, which was great for the cold weather. The cafe has a historical vibe that is cosy and welcoming. It has inside and outside seating. The seating inside has a homely feel, whereas the outside seating is great to capture the beautiful scenery of the river.
We called in for afternoon tea. I agree with the other recent reviews. Lovely setting and yummy home cooked cakes and pastries. Will definitely return.
Love visiting this place!!! The gardens are amazing and the cottage which is situated over the river should definitely be something not to miss. The food was yummy and the dessert selection makes you want to miss the main and eat dessert first. We will definitely be back to sample some more food and explore the gardens.
Lovely surrounds, lovely food. It really is that simple! Worth a visit to wander the gardens & enjoy a snack/meal overlooking the river. Highly recommend.
Stopping places for rest and a coffee of any merit are few and far between on this road unless "seriously searched out" apart from this one.. which is on the main road, easy to find and about half way between Perth & Margaret River. Situated in the most idyllic garden setting home to the Australian Kate Greenaway equivalent (writer and illustrator of children's fairy, nature tales on snugglepot and cuddlepie, the gumnut babies. Luckily, there isn't too much commercialised overdosing on that, although there could rightly be and rather the setting with its twinkling fountains, streams beautiful flowers and huge butterflies lets you get there all by yourself. Coffee and above average, entirely reasonable sandwich and pie offerings is all that you need. A really good pit stop.
