Pig Stand - Hartselle

After I have often sampled PS's grill, I fully compete with TBBR's assessment that you can stand up to the big guys every day of the week. Their prices are more than reasonable, and the quality of the meat is excellent! Icing on the cake is that their desserts are homemade... i.e. they are delivered "in-house, on-premises, instead of warehousebought or commercially. This is a landmark of the true southern restaurants! Your meat is slowly cooked via hickory smoke/fire, and this operation is located separately behind the main restaurant building that tends by the owner. If you are serious with the 'cue, you will be very satisfied with the Pig Stand!

Don't be fooled by the size of this little street house. You have excellent food and friendly service! The bride is from this world.

Home cooked food. What kind of place is that? Large pulled pork, homemade Slav and potato salad. It won't be better than that diner. Thank you to my friend Jon in Hartselle for bringing us there. I can't wait to return and have another of their meals. I was impressed by the high volume and taking orders there while I enjoy my meal. I almost forgot to mention their great southern hospitality.

Southern Comfort Food. Pulled pork and smoked chicken are fantastic. The white sauce recipe they use is the bomb. Easier said we never had anything bad about Pig Stand.

Great pulled BBQ but they will chop it if ask. Best beans around w/pork in the beans. Also really good Brunswick stew in winter. Homemade pies are good. Very reasonable prices.
