My partner is vegan so it's important that we can both have a good amount to choose from on the menu, and a little bit of research on the web led us here. While already a vegetarian restaurant, the vegan options aren't totally clear on the menu. Thankfully the waiter was completely on the ball, showing the (many) options available and which dishes could also be customized to suit. We ordered a mixed selection to start, and the non vegan items were brought in on a separate plate. I'll admit that this South Indian style of cuisine is mostly new to me so I'm not entirely sure what the individual items were called, but we wolfed everything on that plate with wide-eyed enthusiasm. The mains were equally delicious and I still can't get over how much depth of flavour there was in my vegetable and paneer curry. I'm so used to a bland, stewed mixed vegetable side dish in a standard high street British Indian that the curry presented here was a genuine revelation. A special mention must go to the rice. It was apparently a standard pilau according to the menu, but it was anything but standard to me. Again, with a regular high street curry house you might get a couple of cardamom pods and a touch of turmeric for colour, but this was something else. It was infused with such delicate and surprising flavours, I was actually disappointed with myself for being full and unable to eat more! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Small popular restaurant for great tasting South Indian food. Dosa's were an absolute delight and service, though a tad slow, but was with a smile. They have quite a few variety of Dosas, so we ordered a platter. Helps you to taste various dosas in mini sizes. Avoid the uttapam though. It came under cooked in both, the platter and as main. It seats about 40 people, so go early to avoid disappointment.
The restaurant serves nice vegetarian south Indian dishes. Taste is authentic and is a very quiet place. Prices are very reasonable.
During my trip to the UK, I visited numerous places, but I found this restaurant to have an excellent menu and exceptional taste. Despite its size, the food was truly top-notch.
The restaurant was not busy but the server we had was extremely rushed and very rude! When we asked for a couple of minutes to order he stormed away from us. He then brought us the wrong dish (which we didnt make a fuss about). He tried to clear my friend's dish when she was clearly still eating (the restaurant was still not busy so its not like they needed the tray straight away) and then waiter intentionally ignored us when we asked for the bill. He looked straight at us and continued sorting cutlery. When we went to the cash desk to pay he was rude again when saying card payments for £10 and over only. And then had the nerve to ask for a tip! We were there less than an hour as we felt very uncomfortable. Food was mediocre but service was appalling. Don't wste your time or money at this restaurant.
