A group from our church visited Jemstone's in Jan. and I was pleasantly surprised. It was a Friday evening and the place was packed and noisy. We had a nice chat with the owner and his partner while waiting for our group to arrive. The food was very good when received but because the place was full we did wait awhile for our food, but worth the wait. Will return.
Another road trip and we needed a nothing fancy, simple dinner. My husband had been to this location but not this incarnation on trips home from Toronto but I had never been there. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the small restaurant was and how busy it was. Service for drinks and orders was prompt but we waited a long time for our meal. I was impressed but hungry that our server apologized that the fish was not up to her standards and that the cook was starting a new batch. The fish and chips was very good. The batter had an unusual but pleasant taste and was very crisp and hot. The price was discounted to make up for the wait which was appreciated. We will definitely return.
Took 20 min to get our first round of drinks, the took an hr to get our food. So if u looking for a place to eat where time is not important then this is the place as the food was good
Very good experience - 7 of us stopped on way to cottage for Fall weekend fishing trip. Food was very good - we enjoyed the loaded natchoes, wings, and loaded fries (all were very good). Good selection of beer on tap ... and Service was very pleasant and attentive. For those who always drive by wondering, inside is very modern and upscale with great sports on big screens if you want to watch a game. Another good sign (for those who care) washrooms are clean too. Overall, I would call this place a "Hidden Gemstone."
