Steak 'n Shake - Harrisonburg

I really enjoy the food, but I've received a Frisco melt without the Frisco on it two times now.

This Steak 'n Shake is situated on the James Madison University Campus, within the D Hall building. While the menu is somewhat limited, it still features all the classic Steak 'n Shake offerings like burgers, chicken strips, and milkshakes. The prices are comparable to those at a standard restaurant location. However, for those who are not affiliated with the campus, accessing the restaurant may be challenging due to parking restrictions.

The food was served cold, and the burgers came pre-loaded with ketchup and mustard, which is not how condiments should be handled. The chili cheese fries were missing the chili altogether, and the fries were excessively salty, causing discomfort for anyone who tried them. The only redeeming quality was that it was technically edible.

I visited Steak n Shake on campus this evening, and I was pleased with my experience. The food was served hot and tasted excellent. I ordered a banana milkshake topped with a cherry and whipped cream, and it was absolutely delicious.

The food may be greasy, but that’s where the flavor really shines. It's located on the first floor of a university dining hall, so you can expect it to be lively and a bit chaotic. But that’s part of its charm!
