Shrimp and grits were disappointing but the loaded fries were incredible! Worth going back just for them

Food was excellent convenient location as we were touring JMU and staying at Hotel Madison.

We were the last seating for Easter brunch. They had run out of shrimp and seafood salad and the lamb was tough and over cooked. Some of the food was cold. While I realize that special occasion brunches are generally overpriced and this was no exception, I think we should have had the same menu options as earlier diners. We got a shrug and an oh well, we ran out. These guys were anxious to clean up and go home. Disappointing because we’ve dined there before and the food is exceptional.

We were there for Easter Brunch. The food was okay and it’s probably because our reservation wasn’t till 1:30pm. The salmon was bland and dry and by then time I got to the dessert table, all that was left was the crepe brûlée that was obviously had been sitting there for a while. For the food that was served, I thought it was overpriced. It was definitely not worth the $50 per person meal, but this is always expected on holidays.

Outstanding Easter Brunch. The food was delicious and plentiful. The only thing they ran out of was a fabulous dessert berries soaked in white wine and topped with chocolate mousse. Luckily there were many more options available. Service is much improved since last Fall. Chef came to our table to make sure we were enjoying our meal. We had a memorable experience with our JMU students and will return again.
