Wood Farm Visitors Centre - Harborough

We visited this restaurant for the first time today and were greeted warmly by the staff. Despite being busy, we were able to find a seat as many people opted to dine outdoors. We decided to try the carvery and were impressed with the selection of three beautifully cooked meats and fresh vegetables. The meal was thoroughly enjoyable and we appreciated that the staff didn't constantly interrupt us to ask how everything was. We will definitely be coming back here again.

Previous owners of the restaurant may have been somewhat inexperienced when it came to predicting customer demand, but they were kind individuals. The current setup includes a brewery, which allows for additional profits from beer sales. The restaurant also supplies other establishments, earning income from both wholesale and retail sales. However, it is unlikely that they will become successful restaurant owners anytime soon.

The restaurant is now under new management and is open every day from noon for drinks and food. The brewery will be reopening soon, where you can watch Kev working diligently to brew some of the best ales in the area.

I thoroughly enjoyed the food at Wood Farm, but I was informed that the restaurant is closing down. It's truly disappointing. I think it's due to the closure of the brewery that they haven't been able to attract enough customers to stay open.

We visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch, where we enjoyed a traditional plated roast dinner. We made a same-day reservation and were given an early seating time, which worked well for us. The food was delicious, with generous portions of meat and vegetables. My wife opted for the vegetarian cauliflower tart with Parmesan cheese, which she thoroughly enjoyed. For dessert, I had apple crumble and my wife had ginger and date sponge, both served with plenty of custard. She raved about the ginger and date sponge! The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. The restaurant/bar area was spacious and had a great atmosphere. The fact that most tables were occupied or reserved was a positive sign. We look forward to returning to try the lunch or dinner menu and would highly recommend this venue.
