The staff was very friendly. We arrived during a slow period and were well taken care of. We brought our small dog, who enjoyed the comfortable seating and meeting fellow locals.

Today was our first time visiting The Dog and Gun for Sunday lunch. The pub is located in a picturesque village in Leicestershire and has a charming traditional pub ambiance. The atmosphere is great and the pub is dog-friendly. We were seated promptly and our drinks were served quickly. We ordered our meals, which were also served promptly and were excellent. The food was beautifully cooked, tasty, and some of the best we've had in a long time. We want to thank everyone involved in making our Sunday lunch a truly special occasion. I stopped by this restaurant last minute to grab a meal just five minutes before they stopped taking orders, and despite our late arrival, we were warmly welcomed. The meal was fantastic and the staff were friendly, so we will definitely be returning. My husband ordered his usual gammon and, as always, requested it to be well-done. Many places tend to not fully cook it to his liking, but the Dog and Gun nailed it perfectly. This pub has always been a favorite of ours, so it was a shame that it wasn't busier for a Saturday night at 8 o'clock.

We are so fortunate to have this as our local. A great choice of ales, fantastic food and a glorious terrace area on a sunny day. Highly recommend the £35 Steak Deal on a Saturday evening 2 steaks with all the trimmings plus your choice of a bottle of wine to share. Bargain!

Great Sunday lunch with family. Very busy and fully booked. Typical roasts, today was turkey, pork, beef or trio of meats. Couple of interesting vegetarian options too. I reserved via their Facebook Web page. Decent selection of puddings too.A good pub Sunday lunch.
