The Hanalei Gourmet

We wanted to go to Hanalei Gourmet last Sunday, but the wait was almost an hour. So happy we came back today! The food and service was top notch, absolutely delicious, and we had a nice relaxing meal on their deck. I started with the onion soup, accompanied by artichoke dip on toast, while Nabebikins had fishtacos and the Waldorf salad. While they have a selection of cocktails, we stick to the old Standbys Mai Tai and a Greyhound. We look forward to going back soon!

Glad to have found this little neighborhood gem! Service was friendly and fast. The best fish and chips I’ve had so far on the island! The fish is generously portioned in a light, airy beer batter. The loco moco had plenty of gravy and a runny egg over sticky rice. The artichoke dippers were so good look at how juicy those are and they are served with an herby white sauce. The bloodies were made with a medium hot tomato juice with plenty of limes and marinated green beans in it. We had a great meal!

At our server Leslie's suggestion we ordered the soup of the day carrot) the Marlin fish taco with pineapple aioli, and Moe's Ultimate burger and fries. Dessert was Kauai pie. Leslie's local artwork adorned the walls in the dining area. We enjoyed the view of the mountains in the background. The restaurant is located in an old schoolhouse, and the specials are written on the original chalkboards. Well worth a stop in Hanalei for the ambiance and the food...

This was my one of favorite food experiences on Kauai! The salad was very fresh and yummy and the burger with avocado and fries was absolutely scrumptious. And you can't go wrong with a passion fruit soda.

Loved this place. I had the chicken sandwich and it was great. My wife ordered the Moe’s burger and it was even better. The fries are awesome. Our waitress was super nice. She refilled our drinks without ever having to ask and even offered drinks to go. My bro-in-law ordered the fish tacos and said they were one of the best he’s ever had as well. Awesome service and food!
