Wah-waaaaaaaaah This time, my mom, my daughter, her boyfriend and I went here for lunch before going to the movies. I can see why most who eat here take their food to go, because it's pretty small inside. There's a deli counter when you first walk in with various sweets. We placed our order and settled down at the round table in the middle of the small shop. Of course for review purposes, we had to try a variety of things. We got an order of lumpia and two flavors of wings. The wings were tasty. The lumpia was very good! Almost as good as the best lumpia I've eaten from my filipino friend's mom so that's impressive. My daughter's boyfriend had never tried lumpia so this was a great first impression. I got The Melt and realized I don't care for Rye bread haha BUT it was still delicious!!! Mouth watering just thinking about it... my mom ordered the bacon cheeseburger and it was massive. The kids both got grilled cheese with added bacon. Everyone enjoyed their food and it was plentiful at an excellent price point. We even got a couple of sweets to go, we enjoyed the meal so much. It's in an awkward location, the decor isn't anything that'll impress, but the food and the personable service is more than worth it. I look forward to returning again and trying more of their menu AND getting lumpia again. Come to think of it, this is the BEST lumpia I've eaten at a restaurant!
I stumbled upon this place on Yelp while looking for a good burger place near my work. When I read the reviews I was sold on giving them a visit but add in they had Lumpia I was really excited to give them a try. Although in a unique location on the far side of Rivers they are truly worth a visit. It is clean and well kept not only in the dinning room but also the Kitchen. We arrived just after they opened and quickly ordered a side of Lumpia while we previewed the rest of the menu. The Lumpia arrived a few minutes later and they were large and super delicious. With the tasty ground beef and veggies they were everything I wanted and more. Add in the unique Red Pepper sweet sauce and they were perfection. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger and my coworker ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger. I got the Onion rings and he got the seasoned fries. The fries and onion rings were both very tasty. The rings were cooked perfectly as were the fires which had some really tasty season salt to kick them up a notch. The Burgers were delicious! We both were quiet as we ate them. The patty was hand formed and juicy and was cooked to perfection. The patty was lightly spiced so that the taste of the fresh beef stood out front. WOW this was one of the best burgers I have had in years. I complemented both the Chef and Owner on how good everything was. They truly put love into their food and it shows. I am so looking forward to trying more items form the menu!
Ok my first review so here goes, me and my girlfriend were visiting from Tennessee. We were greeted and told to look over the menu. We both got burgers. I got the regular cheeseburger and she had the Mushroom and Swiss. The burgers are half pound MONSTERS!! The owner is a very charismatic and funny guy. He made the visit worth the time. The burgers arrived after about 15 minutes because it's cooked to order with 100% beef. OMG. The juices of the burger ran down my arm. It was amazing. Without a doubt, the best burger this country boy has ever ate. She LOVED her burger and I see the grease on her plate letting me know her burger was the same way. I plan on coming back here again when I visit again. I'm officially a Boo-Yah fan!!!
Wings and Cafe suggests beer, right? This was my thinking but no suds didn't sway the train off the tracks. The parking lot was sparsely populated, so you'll not be enticed by a roadside view, your going there and there specifically and you'd be right to. Chef Kevin's thirty five years of being a wingman (ha) is a strong testament to his sauce configurations. Reading the names evokes little understanding of just what mouthwatering flavors Kev concocts, my 10 wing two flavor order changed something in me. I was hyperconscience of meat tenderness and freshness, bone color or some other uselessness, and putting the sauce secondary. I now realize that I am a product of my bars menus, a victim of circumstance and have been eating wings that couldn't hold Boo Ya's jock strap. Please know, if I could describe just how delectable and savory my sauces tasted, I'd letcha know. But I just can't. It would be a disservice to how next level these wings were. And unfortunately, with that, I must bid a fairly well.
Had some time to kill between appointments and my Mom was craving a non fast food burger. I searched nearby on Yelp and although this place touts its wings as top notch, I noticed they have a whole section of their menu dedicated to half pound burgers. Plus they were only a mile away... sold. I was surprised there weren't more people there for lunch but it was on the later side of lunch time. You walk in and there's nothing to the place. Obviously family owned and a little divey, but very welcoming and friendly. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with some cheese fries. The woman at the counter assured us that they us never frozen, hand made, half pound patties for their burgers and I knew it was going to be good. The burger is huge... I would even dare to say larger than a half pound. It was so filling and all the toppings were fresh. Really, I would come back just for this burger. It was that good. I'd love to check out the wings in the future but with that burger looming over half the menu, It'll be a tough sell.
