Great atmosphere and delicious food- prices are fair and make sure you arrive hungry because the portions are gigantic. If you indulge in alcohol, The spicy Mango margaritas are !

I really wanted to love this place, especially since it’s on my street I was going to make it my go-to spot if the food was actually good. Went here for drinks about a month ago. Ordered a michelada spicy marg. Two simple drinks if you have the right ingredients. They did the michelada with Salt NOT tajin. It did not taste how it should and the other drink was just OK. (Also made with salt and not tajin) they really lack on putting seasoning around the rim of the drinks. Overall just not good bartending. Everyone seemed friendly so we decided to give it a shot yesterday. The waitress we originally had got switched. Then we ordered our food and it was TERRIBLE. It lacked so much flavor, not just salt it just lacked flavor in general. The prices for what we got were absolutely ridiculous! It was a total waste of money. On top of all of that I was reading reviews that they charge a percentage for a tip??? I didn’t even notice AND we tipped extra. Will not be going back.

La Casona is absolutely amazing. Celebrating a friend’s birthday, we started at the bar and enjoyed a couple of cocktails (mango coconut mojitos were so fresh tasting). We ordered the Aprepas (cheese, beef and pernil), a must try, it was light and crispy and the fillings so flavorful! We also got the camarones with mofongo for an appetizer, extra garlic. Our entrees looked,smelled and tasted so good I didn’t get any pictures! Lomo Salgado, Rojo , pernil, everything delicious. Even the salad and sides of beans, rice and beet salad were excellent. Servers Brian and Samantha took such good care of us. They were so happy and even brought us a special house made hot sauce and surprised our friend with a piece of flan and birthday sign. If you want flavorful well seasoned authentic home cooked vibes with a chill atmosphere(and great music) please check them out! Good for date night or a group.
