However, I was not a fan of the rib sub. I think they should heat the meat first before putting it on the bread, instead of preparing the whole sub and then microwaving it, which makes it soggy. Not appetizing at all! There have been occasions when I've visited and the toppings haven't been very fresh, which is disappointing. Other times, though, everything is wonderfully fresh. It seems to be a bit of a hit or miss. Despite that, I’ll continue to come here for my favorite dirty Hamilton sub!

I've been visiting this restaurant for quite a while now and I've always experienced friendly service, even when they are training new staff. The food is consistently tasty and reasonably priced. Plus, their hours are convenient for my schedule.

I've been a lifelong customer of Mike's Subs, whether at the original location or the one on Upper James. You simply cannot find better or fresher subs anywhere else. The quality is fantastic, and the prices are great. My favorite is the assorted sub, and I always order it with pickles on the side (they're real kosher dills!). I highly recommend it!

If you want the CLASSIC style sub (not subway) than this is the spot for you, I love the bun, the shredded lettuce, classic deli meats, the sub sauce etc, it even has the classic sub shop smell that I remember from the 80s as a teenager. I'm going to get a mixed sub for lunch and my work dinner for tonight. Make it a combo with lays classic chips and a canned pop for a complete cmeal. YUM! Chain store shops got nothing on Mike's. Period.

Mike's Subs on Ottawa always has great subs. Fresh buns and toppings at a reasonable price. I have loved every sub that I have bought there. Highly recommend!
