Let's break this down to one star for each of these key items: Atmosphere: check! Gorgeous old building, has a genuine feel of Europe. Clean and comfortable. Very inviting. Excellent for a date night or a business lunch. Service: 100% on point. The staff never hover but check in enough to make sure you're never wanting for anything. The service is genuinely friendly and not put on the staff seem happy to be there. Beverages: Oh yes! A great selection of cocktails and wine to choose from. Food: OMG sooooo good. SO good!! Everything I've eaten here has been incredible. Notable favourites: the gnocci and the risotto. MMMmmm Price: Honestly, for what you get this place is totally reasonable. We spent around $200 for a bottle of wine, one appetizer, two entrées and a café au lait! This is the place to take someone you want to impress Five stars all the way.

THE best dining experience you will find in hamilton! The service, food ambience were all first rate. Every dish that was requested was perfect in itself the evening flowed as smoothly as the wine. My out-of- town guests have not stopped raving. I’m going back this week! Lucky, lucky me!

This place is wonderful! We discovered it on our weekend trip to Hamilton, and were so impressed by dinner on Friday that we returned for Sunday brunch before heading back home. The waitstaff is fun, friendly, and knowledgeable, the food is extraordinary and plentiful (some of the best steak tartar we’ve had, and the prices are extremely reasonable. We will certainly be back if we’re in the area again!

Date night last night was to die for. We had the escargot and sourdough bread to start. Both were very good. The lamb burger was so delicious, and the salad was one of the best salads I 've ever had. Even my French fry obsessed husband said 'if I had 've known the salad was this good, I would have ordered it instead of the fries! ' The service was excellent. Friendly and quick. Can 't wait to return!

If you're ever looking for a place in Hamilton to have delicious food; check out The French! AHH-MA-ZING. We had the Charcuterie Plate, Frites and Escargot Au Vin; followed by Grilled Pork Chop with brussels Apple Parsnip Potato Smoked Mustard Bacon for me, and Fy had the Trout Almondine with Green Beans Fingerlings Tomato Almond Preserved Lemon Brown Butter. We finished off with Vanilla Crème Brulee Everything went above and beyond expectations. The food looked, smelled, and tasted spectacular. The service was impeccable and the overall decor and environment was an understated modern comfort. Highly recommend The French for a special night out!
