In summary:LIKED- amazing fried tofu appetizer;- excellent rice wraps;- nice decor;- service and refills of water were quick. DIDN'T LIKE- though they are licensed they had no beer- toilet in mens room was not functional
The service here is always friendly. The restaurant has beautiful furniture and decorations from Thailand. The menu is pretty extensive and includes some interesting options not often available in other Thai restaurants, including coconut mango chicken (my favourite dish at this restaurant).
This has to be the most Authentic Thai food in the region. The decor is a little dark, but the food lightens up everything. The menu is comprehensive but not overwhelmingand, and there are things on it that I've not seen before. Thai morning glory salad is my favorite. A green leafy vegetable fried until crisp with shrimp, pork, cashews and onions. Mieng kam i another unusual appetiser. A do it yourself roll of betel leaves ,toasted coconut, and othertasty morsels with a sauce to die for.Check the hours of opening. It's closed for lunch and on the occasional Tuesday. It's well worth a visit and you wont be disappointed.
A group of us decided to enjoy some Thai food and this is where we ended up. The decor takes you someplace other than the everyday. It is dimly lit and does add some atmosphere to the place. You come here for the food, though. From the coconut rice (which is a must) to the Ginger tea and the spicy dishes (which I like), you can't go wrong. They have many choices though that aren't spicy and my wife enjoyed that. The food is acceptable enough for young children to enjoy, too. As always, great conversation was enjoyed over this amazing food. We couldn't stop talking enough about the many flavours. The server was very attentive and took care of us well. Definitely a place to go, and return to!
I discovered Thai Memory online by searching for restaurants near Hamilton Place Theatre, where we parked for the evening. Upon arriving, the restaurant looked dark inside (open or not?), but went inside to check it out. Turns out the lights were off except at the 2 tables where people sat, presumably to save energy. The menu had plenty of suitable choices, and warned many times their spicy is "very spicy", so I decided against the chicken spring rolls. I had the vegetarian spring rolls, which were fantastic because the filling had taro (I was told this is a root vegetable) and tasted sweet and a bit like coconut. I had the best Cashew Nut Chicken I have tasted, along with jasmine rice. I will go back again the next time I'm in Hamilton. So tasty! My friend said the coconut rice was really good too.
