Very disappointed with our trip to this restaurant which seems to have good reviews.
I'm struggling with what to writeThe place is pretty tiny and the staff is very friendly.
We came here and sat on the patio on a Saturday, they had a DJ spinning some tunes and it was pretty nice. The food is delicious, I had the pigasus and it tasted like a sausage made into a hamburger, not that it was bad but not what I expected, my fault really. They have great craft brew on tap and the servers are great, I'll be back for sure
We wanted a quick lunch while doing some business downtown. This is not the place for a quick anything. We opted for the (secret) patio. You have to exit the restaurant and go around the corner through a parking lot to enter. It's a great space but it just feels dirty and neglected. It's high time they got out a power washer and some paint brushes. . There are picnic tables and few regular tables. There is some natural shade as well as some umbrellas. We ordered a draft (it's Friday after all) and had to wait about 10 minutes. Turns out they had to change the keg. It was cool but not the cold that you really want when sitting outside enjoying the day.We opted to split a sandwich and try the small poutine. After about 40 minutes we got our food. The fries were lukewarm and limp under the gravy. They do use real cheese curds though. The grilled cheese chicken club was so grilled that the bread was hard and brittle, impossible to bite, had to use a knife and fork. The extra crispy bacon that I specifically requested and stressed came out limp and rubbery! Did not want to complain and wait another 40 minutes for a replacement. The do have vegan/vegetarian options for those looking. When we got our bill were charged for a large poutine. This was probably our fourth visit in the last couple of years and it will be our last unless it's during art crawl and we want to sit on a patio and have a beer. There are a lot of better places to eat in the core. Our service was good but the quality in the food was lacking.
