Homegrown - Hamilton

My colleague and I were looking for a quick place for breakfast that wasn't fast food and Homegrown was great! Delicious and made-to-order. The same price or better than fast food in my opinion, but a million times better. The staff were very friendly. They take cash and credit. Located downtown - really convenient!

Coffee here is very good. I would say this is generally more of a casual coffee house with a very small menu but they serve good, healthy lunches from local, healthy, organic, fresh ingredients. They also have community events like poetry readings and live music at night. They are a place to go when you have time to spend to sit and have a coffee and maybe read while you wait for your food, but not if you have a limited amount of time for lunch and need to be somewhere.

My boyfriend and I went for a quick bite to eat during lunch hour. We shared a club wrap - very delicious! It was loaded with meat, fresh veggies and a tasty sauce. We also got a coffee and iced Americano - both good! Overall, food was quite flavourful. The wifi connection didn't work which was unfortunate because we wanted to get some work done. But it wasn't the end of the world to just sit back and people watch in the core of downtown Hamilton (in fact, made the experience way more memorable!). Cozy atmosphere. Friendly staff. Lovely lunch. :)

I went here to see a show. The beers are great and the bartenders are very friendly and likeable. More seating would be beneficial. Enjoyed the art on the walls!

In this case, earnest is not meant in a disparaging way. Homegrown is a warm & welcoming café on a great strip on King William. There's tons of seating and plenty of events going on. I'm partial to the sandwiches, especially the tempeh hummus one. Hearty bread and a nice combo of ingredients including fresh spinach. Local beer, good coffee and a strong community spirit too.
