1370 Hibachi Express - Hamden

This takeout restaurant is fantastic! Just a heads up: they are closed on Mondays, so the posted hours might be incorrect for that day, but all other hours are accurate. Every dish is packed with flavor, and I've been satisfied with every meal I've had here. If I could give them 10 stars, I definitely would! The staff is incredibly friendly and efficient, and you can tell they put a lot of love into each dish. They even have Japanese green tea ice cream, which is hard to find, and you'll definitely want to come back for more. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try; the aroma of the food will draw you in. Best of luck to them—they've definitely won my loyalty! Update: They are currently closed, but I can't wait for them to reopen. I absolutely love their chicken wings; they are the best in town!

Incredible experience! Even though they were closed, they still prepared a meal for my husband and called him when it was ready. I had my doubts about Asian "soul food," but the greens were absolutely perfect. I usually drown my food in hot sauce, but I didn’t even need it this time! It's far superior to many other soul food restaurants. Plus, when my husband was 50 cents short, they kindly said it was no problem.

I have always been impressed with the food here, having tried many different items from the menu. Without a doubt, this is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. I really miss it and hope they reopen soon!

This is a fascinating restaurant. At first, you enter expecting the usual Chinese cuisine, but you’ll soon discover that the menu also features what appears to be soul food. I've visited several times, and I've never been disappointed. I'm looking forward to returning to try the mac and cheese. The service is pleasant, the food is great—definitely give it a try!

I decided to try several dishes to assess the food at this restaurant. I ordered the chicken wing platter with two sides: macaroni and cheese and collard greens. The meal was quite delicious, although I would recommend baking the top of the mac and cheese a bit longer for a better finish. I also sampled the coconut shrimp, which I wouldn't recommend. However, the steamed dumplings were absolutely fantastic—some of the best I've ever tasted! Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, which arrived promptly. The delivery driver was also exceptionally friendly!
