Together with my wife, I wanted to spend a nice evening before the end of the business trip. At first glance the restaurant seemed very friendly, but we were very soon disappointed. We usually don't write reviews, but in this case it was important to us. The restaurant was not in the Rush Hour, but we waited 55min for the appetizers. With hungry stomach we waited and ordered some cuts of baguette for hunger and waiting time, as the bread was very fast to just an hour waiting time (later found that the second part of the bread had to be paid extra, which I don't know). The appetizer was lukewarm but pleasant. Nothing unusual, but with enough hunger, that's not a problem. The main course appeared quite simple dish, tastefully on the level of a snack bar. All this would not have been so dramatic if we were kindly served. But there were no traces of courtesy. We received the greeting in an essay, while the waiter continued to speak to the colleague. Then he went wordless to the table, and we had no idea he wanted to take us to our table. We were irritated and came after that when we heard a loud coming from the distance? Although we were very friendly, the waiter was not a single smile. But we're hungry, so we shouldn't be disturbed. The food should not necessarily sown a person in portions. My wife had a hair in the food. It's a good thing, but when we mentioned it, we were cut in and asked my wife to put the hair together. Now I just wanted to go. But hunger has left us. We forgot Dessert because we just wanted to go. A small tip nevertheless gave because I was just raised. I'm still upset about it because it wasn't worth it. All in all, it was an absolute disappointment.
I wanted to celebrate my birthday with family and friends in the Elbe. At the top of the Elbkate I found open ears for my concern and in an uncomplicated way it was possible to organize that 25 people found time to celebrate, look and blows in this wonderful place. Great thanks to the attentive and super-friendly service! Thank you to Mr Sporrer, who has unconventionally enabled the success of this unique festival!
A beer garden right at the Elbufer with beautiful views and beautiful flair. But I don't want to sit here, so it's good that there are enough beer benches out there. The beer price is fine, I never tried the dishes here. The hotel is very well located on the hiking route between Övelgönne and Jenischpark.
In magnificent weather, I walked with my little Dalmatian from the Oevelgönne museum harbour on the beach towards Teufelsbrück. The beach and the promenade were well visited at 25 degrees in the shade. In addition to the Elbkate on the water (beach quality as in the South Sea), various naked people were lying and sunk. Above the beach there are large dog run-out areas on which there are many playful dogs. After the extensive hike we returned to the Elbkate. Here it is exceptionally allowed to bring his four-legged friends. For them there was a large water bowl ready, which was gladly accepted. As an offer there was a terrine peas soup with sausage that tasted very well. Add a glass of ColaMix without ice cream. All in all a fair price. The dog got his raw goulash meat. After the fortification, Jenna, my dog, was still able to bathe extensively in the Elbe. I think she's a Dalmatian water dog. The beach is moderate and fine sandy. If you look east, you can see the old Union refrigeration house at the Oevelgönne museum harbour, which is now an exclusive senior retreat. Nadja Tiller and Walter Giller live here. It is also possible to admire the rock age of Sweden, which was taken by the glacier towards Hamburg during the ice age and was deposited in the Elbe. At the deepening of the Elbe he was found and after the mountain he was placed on the beach. An excursion to the Elbe and returning to the Elbkate is worthwhile when the weather permits. For parking you should find a place on the Elbchausse, as you rarely find a parking lot in Oevelgönne and Teufelsbrück.
