Speicher 52 - Hamburg

My colleagues and I were forced into eating dinner one night in the Marriott's restaurant. While breakfast here was great, dinner was terrible. Not the food itself, mind you, just the service. It took us over hours to receive our meals which seemed like...they had been sitting for some time. Perhaps the chef and servers that night were new, but everything seemed to run in slow motion. When we asked what was taking so long, rather than checking with the kitchen, we were given a lecture on how food service works. Not good. There are so many other good options within walking distance

We ate here as it can be accessed direct from the hotel. We both had a steak and it was served perfectly cooked to our liking and in a timely manor. The staff were all polite and the cost was what I would expect to...pay for the food and drinks provided. We also had breakfast here and the selection served is both English and Contiental and unlimited, the price was included in our room. We would eat here again without hesitation

The first impression was very clean, simple, but had a gastro-pub atmosphere. No one sat down, we just walked in, no one came to our table until my man got up and got a waitress. she brought menus and asked for our drink order

This restaurant should have a much better rating. eating is really good and the dishes well prepared. that alone should receive a 4 assessment (actually 5 if there were not the sauce incident mentioned in this review). then comes the rest: the restaurant is humane. not only today, but it feels so every time they look into the dining room (as we did in the course of the years when they visit the very busy bar front or stay at the hotel). then comes the nickel-and-gram attitüde: a court comes without extras (which is unusual in Germany). these supplements are sold separately and with 20% discount on the price of the court. it was not even offered a sauce on a dish traditionally served with sauce. only against price. unacceptable. the service is mainly occupied by trainers, which - to the price of experience - is not quite reasonable. yes, azubis are necessary to learn on-the-job, but for the required embossing a senior should be behind them who cares for the guests. Consequently, the waitress was completely overwhelmed and could not give any correct information about the offered feeds. will not come back, and this is very regrettable, as eating is not bad at all, but in hamburg there are many other places where they can enjoy good eating without the headaches that bring the culinary experience in the store 52 alone. that explains why we had the entire restaurant for ourselves.
