Rexrodt - Hamburg

20 years ago I became a regular to this lovely restaurant but some years later the chef (and owner) sold up and went abroad. From then it all went a bit downhill which was a shame really because the rooms and service were fantastic. When...we revisited a few days ago, what a lovely surprise we had: Such delicious food, such delightful service and the wine was fine as well. The Wiener Schnitzel is beyond compare: juicy with non greasy and well seasoned batter. Chevre chaud as a starter also worked a treat. I recommend the tables by the window.

I love to go to this place since my studies 30 years ago in Hamburg. Unique dining room, in an old butcher shop. Very good food an wine don't miss it!

We visited on a weekday, due to a group in the main dining room the focus on other diners was not great. the young server was very pleasant and polite, but could not wait for that. it took 10 minutes to get the menu,...15 to order drinks and another 10. the starters lasted another 30 minutes to arrive. mains 25. after the plates where the ventilation openings in the kitchen, where turned off, and the dining room began to smell odors. no more beautiful visit.

We ate here recently at our stay in hamburg. we went along the street and this restaurant was the fullest so we decided to have our late dinner there. the food was excellent. I had a carrot mango soup with salat and my...man had the craggy carving. we'd eat here in a way.

We had lunch here at the end of the day. good service and fish was very good. wein a bit overprice of 8€ glass and not many options, but others then that an ok lunch option with white table cloth on this road.
