After they have tried all Indian restaurants in hamburg in succession, I can say with certainty that raj mahal is probably their best choice. But before I continue with the review, I must stress that unfortunately since juni 2012 one of the filials (which in the eimsbütteler chaussee) no longer exists, i.e. with interest those in the humboldtstraße.Back to raj mahal, the service is fast, attentive and polite. pappadoms are served generously with three fantastic dips (possibly the most generous in hamburg, as they usually get only one or two when it is their lucky day). as an appetizer, we tried paneer pakoras, which was beautiful, and an absolutely memorable garnel salad, which was so good that we talked about it for days and asked us how we could do it at home. both appetizers were very well presented, modern served, but without too modern and enjoyable. my main court were bombay potatoes. served in a generous portion, it tasted very genuine and was perfectly prepared. my partner ordered saag paneer and he swallowed it in no time. both dishes came with rice and we also ordered Naan-Brot, which came closest to what is normally obtained in Indian restaurants in Great Britain. a really positive experience.
Not Taj Mahal, but Raj Mahal, is this small Indian restaurant, on the not so busy back part of the Eimsbütteler Chaussee . I was here with a friend of Essen and remembered our common India holiday. The restaurant is actually quite lovingly furnished. Very cozy in warm red and orange tones and with Indian carved plates. Prices are fairly low. The lunch table is particularly convenient, changing dishes only cost 5,50 € between 12 and 15:00. The food is not excellent, but the price is correct. The usual North Indian curry dishes with rice are on the map. Chicken Masala , Palak Paneer (Spinat Curry), fish curry with the usual supplements: basmatiries, chapati bread etc. From the South Indian cuisine we enjoyed on the outskirts of the city I can only dream because we unfortunately don't get it anywhere....
I'm a supplier, but also a self-releasing customer. Here there are delicious Indian dishes mildly seasoned, but on request also sharp. I am very happy with the quality. I love mainly chicken dishes, but also roasted rice-birianis. as self-sufficiency pickup, they can occasionally benefit from self-sufficiency discounts. the quality is the same here whether they order or pick up with or without a discount. there is also a reduced lunch table, also for pickup or ordering. the delivery is done by domestic drivers, but can also be done via external delivery services when ordered by external service providers. I've been very happy with the supplies so far. I was very happy about this opportunity to order especially in the last quarantine period. the delivery and delivery process also worked excellently and according to the description.
Why? The food is tasteless and has nothing to do with Indians, no spices, no herbs, no ginger etc. The food is inconspicuous, not even the rice edible. The food intolerances are not taken into account despite the express request. Food doesn't come as ordered, but how it fits the cook. Telephone with the store: superunfriendly. Asked for a refund of the food price as the food had to land in the garbage. That was NOT done. So, do not make the same mistake as I, I have no good alternative where you can order Indians, but then I would rather eat pizza the next time instead of eating so much.
Food came fast, was lukewarm. Absolutely tasteless, watered, honey. ****! Never again!
