Laufauf - Hamburg

We had a good impression with our first lunch in hamburg. the fish was so fresh and juicy. the other dish was so delicous with the special sauce. the waiter is very friendly and helpful.

Visited in December the schnitzel was fantastic,staff very friendly and a great evening overall. Very cosy ambiance.

On site, a pleasant and warm German restaurant. Nice and cosy. Good enough food, or, in my opinion, as good as German food gets ! The issue was paying the bill. My waiter,who was very nice, was basically short changing me and trying to convince...me that 20% tip in Germany was standard. It isn’t. Had I not been on the ball, I might have just agreed to his fast hand. But I insisted that it was my rules and it was 10% maximum. I didn’t like that ending to an otherwise nice meal.

Totally authentic. If you are looking for Hamburg food this is what you get. Cosy surroundings, pleasant staff, good location. We loved it. '

Informal, with wooden chairs and tables, and quite cramped. But it is THE place for authentic, non-touristy food. Full of locals. I went for the Labskaus, a kind of hash that is an acquired taste. My wife loved her Pannfisch, a pan-fried fish. The helpings...are huge. Service was friendly and efficient. If you are an adventurous eater who wants to experience local traditions, you should not miss Laufauf.
