Hamburger Elbspeicher

The great one here is the one you have on the harbour. we booked in advance and decided to sit in the seat. the food was good and the service was decent. I ordered steak as main course and the typical court for hamburg, labskaus as an appetizer....In fact, it was. you can't go wrong here. if they are lucky, they will even find a parking space in front of the restaurant.

Good thing we were not in a hurry, but still, 2.5 hours for a meal with an appetizer and without dessert was just too much. This seems to be an ongoing problem and the owners need to do something about it.....

Great ambiente, silent. Slow service invites you to watch the Elbe. No food tasted. Beer was ok. Nice-looking buffet.

We were lucky to have a local colleague as a tour guide who took us to dinner at the Hamburger Elbspeicher restaurant. It looks out over the water, and has a patio area which must be delightful in warmer weather. The interior has, of course,...a maritime theme, mostly wood and brick. They serve a variety of seafood and local fare, including a twist on Labskause, usually a “kitchen sink” mixture of corned beef, potatoes, onions, beets, pickles, topped with a raw egg, but in this case made with raw fish- in any case, definitely an “acquired taste”; this one got rave reviews.

We went because of a recommendation. First thing which was irritating, was the stroller that we brought. We wanted to have it next to the table and it took some convincing that this is possible. Then we had to wait 15min until we could even...order drinks. The drinks took another 10min until they came. We ordered starters and main courses, but the mains came first, so they took them back again and brought the starters. After 1,5hrs, I reminded them once again that we are still waiting for our food without anything to drink. Once the food came it was not really hot anymore but at least the taste was good. So if they would improve their service, I would recommend.
