They have an impressive selection of beers, and it's unfortunate that, due to the COVID situation, we couldn't relax and savor them more. I do have some feedback: the flavor of the chicken burger could really benefit from a bit more miso, and the chorizo burger was a bit too runny. Additionally, we were looking forward to purchasing some take-away cans so we could enjoy the beers later, as was mentioned on their Facebook page. I will definitely return to enjoy the atmosphere, explore more menu items, and sample more beers.
The food was excellent, the service was great, and the beer was enjoyable. I have no complaints about the place. The atmosphere is pleasant as well. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Grampians and looking for a dining option.
This restaurant and brewery is a must-visit if you're in the Grampians/Halls Gap area. It feels like a family-run establishment, with friendly staff and plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. I particularly enjoyed the long wooden tables. Every dish we sampled was incredible, and by the end of our meal, we were thoroughly satisfied. I highly recommend it!
I had lunch here on Saturday 1 September and it was a good, although flawed experience. I was there with my family for the night and had never been to Halls Gap before. We rang this pub a week before to make a booking, and was told 'it 's a big place, you don 't need to book '. I reminded them that I was enquiring about Fathers Day, and was again reassured that a booking was not necessary.<br/ <br/ Anyone want to guess what I was greeted with when I walked in the door at 12 noon, opening time? 'Do you have a booking? '. Really unimpressed and a poor start. Obviously PSR have some internal communications to sort out there. I 'm no expert at running a business but I will say that just because it ain 't 'peak season ' doesn 't mean there won 't be peaks on certain occasions. <br/ <br/ The food was quite good, and I can see that heading in to the warmer months the outdoor setting would be quite nice. Inside, I found myself fighting to get a drink not a good result for a pub. To get a beer you had to line up with everyone else who was ordering meals. The bar is easily wide enough to support two lines, and no one seemed to be trying to make that happen. Just by observation but this place is possibly trying to work out whether it is a pub or a restaurant, and having some teething problems while doing so.<br/ <br/ I tried three beers they are good brewers. Overall a good business with room for improvement.
Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Beer was delicious and food was well done. They were also very child friendly, accommodating our pram and little one with no issues. Definitely our new hangout in Halls Gap!
