The coastal cafe is a little tiny diamond in the rough Yah sure- you'll likely have to wait 20 minutes for a table.

The thing I love about Coastal Cafe is that even though it's lined up, they're efficient.

I've been to Coastal a couple of times, once ~3 years ago and once this year.

If you want an authentic and unpresuming diner experience, you can't get much closer than this. It's like a tiny slice of the best parts of the 50's. Service was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. Portions were generous and reasonably priced, and the food was obviously prepared with care and attention. It is diner food, though, so don't look for healthy although admittedly we ordered indulgently but even then what we received was wholesome by comparison to the commercially preparedand overprocrdsed norms found almost everywhere else. This one's a gem. Don't pass it up.

I get the breakfast poutine every time, and it is always amazing. By far my favourite place to get breakfast when I’m in the area.
