The Fireside - Halifax

Perfect date night restaurant, customer service was attentive, but not overlaid, excellent quality eating (fish and chips was amazing,) and it has a beautiful atmosphere without being too high-density.

I've been going to fireside for many years and have always held together a Christmas party. since it has moved, it is not the same and every year it will continue from it's origin. we liked it when it had comfortable sofa 's and chairs. that is now lost with the hard benches. luck the hour was cut out this year, which was a disappointment, and there is only one martini on the menu of the four I got earlier. there are all new workers there now and none of them know how to make the old martini's and three of my friends had this old thing martini as they usually do and said it was terrible. we have decided that next year we will make another place. it's really too bad as it used to be a great place to go with friends. I wish the new owners a lot of luck!

We were frequent customers of the old Fireside. The seating is uncomfortable in the new place and if you had thicker curtains on the windows we wouldn 't have to watch the street traffic. The drink list is very limited.

On the whole, it was very nice. Quite chilly to start, but the maitre de was kind enough to turn the adjacent fireplace on. Would go again.

Despite its move from the original location, this restaurant has experienced a decline in quality. The food is decent, but the prices are too high. It is suitable for large group dinners as there is plenty of space to move around.
