Yamaji - Hakone

Had dinner there as a family, so were able to order and try multiple dishes. The odayaku and Katsu don were great as well as the chicken and veggies soup (name? . I chose soba. Super friendly to forgeiners and locals alike.

Delicious katsudon and oyakodon. We preferred the katsudon more. Good service. Only open for two hours for dinner service. A bit more expensive than in other towns, but still affordable. Paying a premium at this resort town is to be expected.

Rarely I say this and rarely I eat katsudons as they’re really difficult to make well but this place has one of the best katsudons I’ve had. Crispy outside , juicy and tender meat on the inside. It’s perfect. Not worth travelling all the way out but if you’re in the area you should definitely eat here

Amazing local food if you are staying at Gora for Hakone trip. Tonkatsu with egg, and noodle soups were amazing. Oden entre was pretty great too. Staff are friendly and accommodating for English speaking customers.
