Forgettable. We had dinner in the lounge on a slow evening. The grits in the shrimp and grits were way over-salted, the shrimp was rubbery, the garnish of fried scallions was very tough and chewy, and when mixed in with the grits made the whole dish pretty inedible. The millionaire burger was very overcooked, dry, and not seasoned. The kid pasta and the zucchini fries were decent. Service was okay. The white tablecloth could not save the experience.
The restaurant, staff, and service is all fine?the food is not up to par. 3 out of 4 of us had the cream of crab soup, and it was just terrible. I?ve never had anything like it, and it has no seasoning in it. None of us finished our soup. The crab cakes were nice lump crab meat, but have no taste. Besides adding some old bay to them, it needed more. I didn?t taste any old bay in them actually, but it would have made them better. The salads were fine, just not what I?d expect from this restaurant?just very basic. The burgers and fries are ok, nothing special and not that impressed for what I thought they?d be. The crab dip was good. We really enjoyed the bread basket for the table.
Delicious food, great service, and great environment. I got the stuffed lobster tail and the chocolate truffle mousse for dessert. Highly recommend both.
Staff was very courteous. Tomato Basil Bisque soup and homemade chips was great!
