Kept our drinks filled, stopped by from time to time to check on us, and did great job. In addition, spoke with XAN, a manager, to compliment her on SHELBE. XAN was very personable also. Sandwiches and mozarella sticks good as always. Went to college in Pittsburgh for two years in early 90s...this restaurant represents the Steel City well!
My husband was excited to see Primanti Bros near our hotel on multi-day car trip and we ordered take out as most of us were too tired to eat out. First off, the sandwiches were delicious the softest, freshest bread I have ever had. We had a bacon and a capicola and both were great. The coleslaw that comes on the was light, vaguely sweet and a little vinegary but not heavy like sauerkraut. So good. Also, the kosher deli pickle was huge and delicious! We had high hopes that our order would be accurate based on the detailed nature of their on-line order placement system but the results were spotty. Retro tater tots came without any sauce. The sandwiches are supposed to come with tomato and French fries on them in addition to the slaw. We wanted to share both sandwiches but hubby hates tomatoes and I don’t like fries. We picked the option to order the sandwiches with those toppings on the side so we could each add back in what we wanted a specific choice in the order system separate from leaving the toppings off completely but unfortunately no tomatoes or fries came at all. Lastly, the Bavarian pretzel was huge and tasted great....until we realized the was a loooong black hair completely wrapped around the center of the pretzel multiple times. Not even remotely possible that it was any of ours. Would probably revisit the restaurant and eat in another time when we could be sure we were getting what we wanted.
The service was unfriendly, but the food was amazing! The bar and wait staff wore heavy makeup and fake eyelashes that prevented them from smiling. Despite this, we still had a great experience and would definitely come back again.
Perfect spot to grab lunch and watch some football. Each of the 1:00 games was on, and lucky enough both Baltimore and Washington were playing on different screens. The food came out quickly and the portions are large. Server was nice. Overall a good visit.
Our last review showed some faults and happily they are fixed. Our previous sandwiches had little or no fries. This time around they were stacked high and very tasty. The bread here is superb and just like the Burgh. Our server John took care of our every need, checking in from time to time and was covering most of the room solo. Bravo to him and the manager that spoke to us.
