My parents and I enjoyed a lovely evening at M.A.D. Without having made a reservation, and severely lacking in Danish skills, we visited the restaurant on a Friday evening and were immediately made to feel welcome and relaxed. Our waitress, Annette, was as kind as...could be. We thoroughly appreciated her warm, funny, and good-hearted manner throughout the evening, and were very grateful to be accommodated in English. Thankfully, we were offered the last available indoor table, and the atmosphere created by the staff and fellow diners was jovial and pleasant, as everyone seemed to be having a good time with friends or family. Fridays are buffet nights at the restaurant, and, as buffet newbies, we were a bit hesitant about the lay of the land. Kindly guided and encouraged by Annette, we began to savour the delicious selection of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and continued that way for the duration of the evening. My parents enjoyed the house red and house white, and water with ice was supplied for the table. Recently having moved to Haderslev, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend M.A.D. to tourists and locals alike. Thank you, again, to the lovely staff for a wonderful evening.
We had salad and Smørebrød with shrimps for an early dinner. Quality and freshness of food was excellent. A selected local beer was the perfect complement. The staff loves what they are doing.
Wow, what a great Friday evening we’ve just had in Haderslev. M.A.D. has a lovely relaxed vibe, and we were immediately put at easy with our non existent Danish speaking skills by the fabulous Annette, who spoke perfect English American : . Tonight happened...to be a buffet night, so ‘Fill your boots’ for 200 Dk. Beautiful trout, various cuts of pork, salami, ham, sea food, cheese, salad, bread, olives etc.etc. Everything on offer was extremely tasty, and of very high quality. The service from Annette was second to none, and we thoroughly enjoyed her sense of humour and knowledge and comments of what’s happening in the UK at the moment Brexit and Boris for starters! . I haven’t enjoyed myself so much in a restaurant for a long time, so if your in Haderslev for any reason, you won’t be disappointed eating out here.
Family of four two adults, one teenager and one child of 3,5 went for a lunch. Friendly staff who had no problems with making accommodations for the teenager and child when it came to the food. Adults had the lunch tapas. Exquisite selections of...Danish style tapas. Portion sizes were good for lunch, but could have been slightly larger for the father. Drink orders were slightly mixed up, but was no problem for us. Were sad that we only discovered this place our last day in Haderslev!
