Sadly, the food was a bit disappointing while before I remember actually trying to finish my dish even after being full because it was that good. Although, I should say some of my family members did really enjoy their dishes (salmon pasta and burgers) Overall, it's a nice coffee shop but I would probably stick to the burgers next time!
In the middle of the lovely town of Haderslev you will find Kafe Kridt. The cafe is a busy eatery clearly popular with the locals. The meals are well priced and taste good. Serving sizes are generous.
On a cold, snowy day where everything was freezing cold, my partner and I decided to take refuge in this cafe that looked very cosy from the outside. It was full of people (a good sign) and before we knew it, we were welcomed by the staff and were given instructions how to go about ordering our food. The menu offered more or less the same like all the other cafe's in Denmark. We ended up ordering spicy chicken burgers with home baked bread, jalapeños, chilli, salsa accompanied with crispy potato chips sprinkled with a chilli salt dressing. It has been the longest time since we have eaten such perfectly cooked chicken filets. They were really, really juicy and succulent. The only negative things we had were the small plates the food were served on. Everything just flew all over the place.. not too polite when in company! After a while the food got too heavy on the spices and something fresh perhaps a salad would have made it easier to digest... we gave up in the end but finished the chicken! There was a steady flow of people zooming in and out, good loud danish music (was taken down a few notches when customers asked for it) people having their business meeting, young people playing board games, mother's with their small children and retired people enjoying time out. We will definitely be returning. the portions are huge, the atmosphere is cosy and just right for a cafe.
The star throws, the fish fillets were more panning than fish or else were the rest super good. The server of the young man in top always sweet smiling and service minded
4 for a delicious brunch, everything tasted good, tea, coffee and juice included in the price. The only small minus was that the rye bread was a little dry. You should have just passed by the bakery there before opening. , can be recommended on a Sunday morning
