The Finsbury - Hackney

This pub has great live music but unfortunately, the staff can be sexist. While it is one of the best places in London for entertainment, it can be difficult to enjoy a drink without experiencing sexist comments from male bar staff. I was made extremely uncomfortable when one staff member lightly hit me on the head after I declined a high five. Inappropriate jokes and comments followed, including mocking my dietary choices. Women should be able to enjoy a drink without being subjected to this kind of behavior. It's time for the staff to mature and show some respect in this day and age.

Today, I had a negative experience with the door person at a restaurant. I was with my Italian female friend, and I am of Caribbean descent. It was clear that the doorman did not want to let us in because we were a mixed-race couple. He gave a weak excuse about my belt not being properly buckled. It was disappointing since my friend and I have frequented this pub on many Fridays. It's sad that we were stopped from enjoying our time and spending our money at our local pub. I didn't cause a scene as I didn't want to embarrass my friend, but this behavior is unacceptable. Management, take note of this incident.

It’a great for live music and events, nice lively atmosphere and it’s nice inside 2x sets of toilets and back area a plus. Staff generally ok but have experienced rude door men before. The pizza used to be better they now use low quality cheese

The Bartender refuses to serve us because one of us was wearing sweatpants, we thought was a joke as we use to go there in sweatpants all the time, especially when we used to go there to watch football matches. I use to go at The Finsbury couple of times per month, for 3 years, so I was quite shocked of this new rule.. Also, because is not mentioned on the web site and also from the security at the entrance. I've sent an email on the web site asking explanations about this new policy but no answer.

Disappointing visit really, did it enjoy the food at all but the service was adequate which was on thing redeeming
