Attended mid-week, pub wasn't too busy, but a long wait to get served because there was only one bartender, a patronising australian sounding woman who was busy chatting with regulars instead of serving. A disappointing selection of beers; mainly mainstream big breweries like heineken and estrella, tasteless youngs brews, and some odd choices like sickly sweet honey beer. Menu was overpriced rubbish, no recognisable dishes, just extremely expensive ponce like duck liver. Overall sad experience, wouldn't recommend to anyone.
We visit this restaurant every year and always enjoy the fantastic food. The service is excellent and they did a great job accommodating our walking group.
On a cold winter day, we found the restaurant to be exceptionally quiet. Despite the lack of bustling activity, the usual high standards were upheld, and we had a delightful and cozy lunch. The vegan hash was both filling and delicious, although the tomato-baked eggs were unfortunately overcooked. We are excited to return in the summer, when the restaurant is typically alive with energy by the river!
This pub in Hackney is our favorite, with a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. It's always a five-star experience whenever we visit.
