They do offer gluten-free options, but the selection is not extensive. However, getting two margaritas and a large plate of nachos for £15 was a great deal. My friend loved the margaritas and approved of how dry and tasty they were. The table we sat at needed to be cleaned after we mentioned food being on it, but the staff on the other side were friendly and helpful. Hopefully, this place will improve in the future!
My friend and I went to this restaurant for a birthday dinner last night. When we arrived at 7:45 pm, it was empty, indicating that something may be off. However, the decor was beautiful and colorful, and the waitress was friendly. We ordered 2 pina coladas, which tasted more like Malibu and pineapple and cost £7.00 each. The appetizers were alright, but the raw carrots and chilies that came with them looked dry and unappetizing. The main courses were bland and poorly presented, with my friend's dish covered in green sauce and my chicken tortillas served on a small bed of lettuce. Despite being the only customers in the restaurant, no one asked us if we wanted dessert or more drinks throughout the evening. When we finally asked for the bill, it came to £48, which we felt was not worth it. We will not be returning to this restaurant.
I was disappointed with my dining experience at this restaurant. Despite the manager's efforts to create authentic Mexican cuisine rather than Tex-Mex, the food was not up to par. The ceviche was mainly chopped tomatoes with a few pieces of pre-cooked seafood, the burrito was filled with rice and sauce with a small amount of meat, and the sopes were rubbery. The only enjoyable part of the meal was the Doritos. The Mexican rice tasted like cold Uncle Ben's, and overall, the dining experience was far from authentic. The restaurant is a sister branch of one in Clapton, so the management should know what works. The menu is overpriced and lacking in quality. Though the manager was friendly, the food was disappointing.
A real shame because this little mexican is loved by the children of our friends because of the decorations and many sombrero to wear. Unfortunately, eating is really very bad, especially the vegetarian options (only meat removed from standard dishes, so a rather. the dishes are generally very small and badly cooked (watery beans, tinted beef etc.) a real shame when I wanted to love this place. when they eat tasty Mexican food over the road to del casa burrito an inconceivable, tiny but very tasty gem.
We had excellent eating and the service was very friendly. good value for money too. beautiful restaurant near stoke newington. we'll be back.
