Solid but eats a bit too much salt for my palate. the last time I was on earth, we ordered ourselves: beef slices: this is the thin cut beef that was braided for hours. this surely whet my appetite hot and sour soup: decent soup, but I had to add plenty of white pepper to kick it on a notch. tsou yiou bing: green onion pancakes. which we made very good, beautiful and crack on the outside and soft on the inside. pork/cabbage dumpling: dense and tasteful filling, but a bit too salty. Fish/leek dumping: Those were the winners. they did not jump on the fish and the salt was mutated, allowing the true aromas to shine. san dong ji: I think this is her signature chicken shell. very good I have to say, but a tad salty. But in combination with the green onion pancake, the combination worked very well. I want to go back a day to her niu rou mien (beef noodle soup). Service is your typical Chinese restaurant service. You take your order, slam the food down, slam the check down and get out of the door to turn tables as quickly as possible. when you come to church on a Sunday....you are waiting to sit for at least 35 minutes.
What is the great thing about being in Southern California? Chinese food! And good Chinese food. Another favorite of my SoCal residents is Earthen, a Chinese restaurant known for their Chicken house. Since there is a large group of people and we had dinner family style, I was happy enough to taste some of their dishes.
Okay, so I've been here for 15 years and this place is the best CHINESE FOOD you'll lose!! Seriously, mouth water quality and never disappointed. ALWAYS consistent taste. No waiting times. GREAT for family/friend gatherings or by themselves. Nice to meet you. Most recommend. Must-Try dishes: beans with pork, green onion pancakes.
Eating at Earthen Cafe was definitely an amazing experience! We decided to try this new restaurant! Definitely worth the attempt! My family loved the cattle slaughters and the cattle soup. Both were full of taste! The portions were perfect to share with the Fam and have to take home extra!
Whenever I'm in the Hacienda Heights area this is my go to restaurant. My must haves are the combination seafood noodle soup and green onion pancakes. I would also recommend their house chicken the sauce the chicken is drenched in is nice and tangy. Their jellyfish appetizer is also drenched in the same sauce.
