I have come to this locally run restaurant many times now and their food has always been consistent and cooked on time for pickup or dining in. Prices are still reasonable here and it will feed you for multiple meals for the week. My favorites here are the braised pork belly with tofu, the garlic eggplant and also now the cumin beef is very tasty. Their beef noodle soup and dumplings are also solid and will fill you up. I'm definitely a fan of the braised or stir fried dishes here. I have yet to try some of the preserves items here, but I will in the future.
It's a fairly small place but the food is excellent and so it fills up fast with diners. I enjoyed the mapo tofu and the salt and pepper shrimp.
I tasted mostly everything here, the only dish is impressive enough to mention is their pickle fish soup, truly well made. The rest of the items are average rating.
Local Restaurant, Budget-Friendly, and Old-School CuisineIt was my last meal in LA for this trip, and Cindy's was our final choice! In brief, Cindy's Kitchen offered delicious food at a budget-friendly price. The portions were generous, especially the Beef Noodle soup – it absolutely must-have. The side dishes were also excellent and served as good time-killers. It seems this place is taken care of by only one friendly Ta-Jie (Big Sister). So food may take a bit longer time than usual.
