The Decks on Mary was a lovely find. My daughter and I had the Canadian breakfast which was just divine. I also had a Pineapple and coconut smoothie which was quite delicious. The rest of our group enjoyed their meal as well.
My wife and i dropped in for a Sunday breakfast with 13yo grandson. Grandson had the Canadian breakfast which consisted of pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. He reckoned it was pretty good. I had basic eggs (poached perfectly)and bacon which was also good. The let down was the wifes breaky burrito. A disaster would be a kind description. Pretty much a wrap full of mush with the enclosed scrambled egg all but non existent, bacon under cooked, one slice of tomato and a mashed hash brown that had more or less taken over the lot. Very disappointing.
This restaurant has been a few changes of management so the food has been good and poor, but happy to report currently the food is excellent. Varied menu and tasty reasonably prices options.
Well I have been to the decks for the same reason. Real estate venture. As we are looking to rent in gympie, we are really trying our hardest to do it through gympie regional realty. The atmosphere when you walk in that office is alive, happy and buzzing. What a great place it would be to work in. Whoops, I'm here for the cafe... Debra Mason sent us over to the decks for complimentary coffe whilst we waited to be shown a house. We ended up having an early lunch which was a beautiful slice of home made quiche. I was in a silly mood after giggling hysterically with the manager from gympie regional rental. I'm going to give them a great review too if I'm allowed to. Owners, if you want peace of mind when renting out your home, Debra Mason is the lady for the job. Whilst she is an absolute comedian, she also says it how it is and won't let you pull the wool over her eyes. Between the decks visit and the rental property inspections, I had a great day.
This place is conveniently located and hours are quite extended, so a good place for a basic meal with visitors. Certainly not a fine dining experience, and not good value for money. Staff are pleasant enough but, again, basically just doing the job. Don't expect either imaginative food or friendly service. It's a food factory!
