Whole people who offer good food. I am not really in the vegan foods, and I just bought cheesecake from them, but it was really good, and my colleagues said that the other food was also great.
Staff is very friendly and open minded. Well, the food. I do not know, I haven’t eaten that many vegan or vegetarian dishes so far. I think it tasted good, considering it was without meat... Price for a menu (soup and main course) is 1690 HUF including packaging. Portion is big enough to make you full even without meat. Do yourself a favour and go for a healthier option of takeout sometimes. Interior is styled a bit greenish, like you would expect a vegan restaurant to be. At 18:30 there were still a quite a lot of options, 3 types of soup and 3 types of main dishes. Which of 5 were vegan. And a ton of deserts. I tried pumpkin soup, which was very good. Pea soup was a bit mediocre. Vegan rice and bean was creamy and tasted “healthy”in a good way. Gnocchi with spinach in cheese sauce was okay, I expected more cheese flavour. My favourite of all was the pumpkin soup, it had plenty of pumpkin seeds in the bottom with a very yummy texture. Something to mention, we got offered it is possible to bring your own food containers. Zero waste movement. Which was nice, but it is still 4 stars, because the food was not amazing for me.
With all the glowing reviews, we really expected more from this place. The soup was OK (although bland) and the choice of mains (four choices) was also reasonable. Sadly, nothing in way of presentation of food and it felt more like having a school dinner than a feast of vegetarian cooking. 2 courses for 1500 is poor value for this area of Budapest and finally, the firm refusal to allow us to combine 2 dishes on the one plate (so to be able to sample all four between us) was disappointing. Only good thing is that they are open until 5pm for the late lunch
I've ordered from VegaKuckó over 100 times. And I would usually get the pancakes. 90% of the time, it was fine. But 10% of the time they would serve me pancakes that had been sitting out way too long and were about to turn bad or were already bad. I complained about it on the Wolt app and just because I gave them a bad (yet honest) review they refuse to serve me.
