The seating area was very clean and spacious. My husband and I had the Cod, chips and peas and our daughter the lasagna and chips. For dessert we had scone, jam and cream and our daughter the Chocolate Pavlova coronet. Our meals were well cooked and presented and served a purpose. The food can best be described as ‘ Frozen at its best’.
Having pulled up with a very tired i83 year old and a hangry 5 year old we were pleased to have their needs met in record time and by an enormous fish finger, and the required range of squash. The ice cream that followed also went down rapidly. The cream tea enjoyed by 2 exhausted grandparents was also delicious. We were very grateful for the rapid service, the willingness and obvious knowledge to meet the needs of very small people and the huge scones and a decent cuppa. Would not hesitate to return.
Stopped a couple of times at this useful junction near our holiday lodge. Food, prices, environs all good, greatly enhanced by the friendliness of the staff. Diolch!
Thank you so much for a fantastic spread of food. Everyone commented stating the quality of the food. We asked for a traditional buffet and that what we got. Thank you so much for everything will definitely call again
I 'm a great believer in the fact that it 's the owners, managers of establishments that make the difference. Sure the food 's got to be good but what differentiates similar places with similar food ... The folk !The folk at Ty Mawr are fabulous, as is their establishment as is their food.Doing a run Liverpool to Llanberis to go up Mt Snowden, Peg and I got two things right, chose the right day, sunshine and stunning views forever more and stopped for a cuppa here.It was just a cuppa and toasted tea cakes all round but everything about it was just right and the folk were very friendly.I noticed they did a cottage pie, chips and peas for lunch dinner, I 'm big sucker for several things one of which is cottage pie so tried to convince Peg that we should come back this way later in the day but was given the evil eye .... So not such a good idea then !As it happens and quite by chance several days later I was driving Caernarfon to Penmaenmawr and so was coming at it from the wrong direction didn 't recognise it until I drove past, did the big U 'ey and even though it was 3pm and I wasn 't particularly hungry got my cottage pie, chips and peas.I 'm a simple bloke and I like simple fare and this was simply the best ever and I 've had a lot of cottage pies over a lot of years. Was it as good as my dear ole mum used to make all them years ago when I was a kid growing up in Wales, nope !It was far better, my dear ole mum 's cooking wasn 't really THAT good and the folk were very friendly .....
