This is a lovely and well-kept pub that is frequently busy with local patrons, but still makes room to welcome visitors. They offer draught beers like Banks Bitter and Mild Ale, a rare find these days. Customers are always up for a friendly chat and will gladly share the area's industrial history, including the old Cookes Explosive Works and Stores. The bar staff is friendly and helpful. It's definitely worth a stop if you're traveling on the main A470 road in North South Wales.
I visited The Oak last night with a group of friends and had a wonderful time. Great food and great entertainment. The mixed grill was outstanding
Gles and I love The Royal Ye. We enjoy going there on the weekend to have a few beers and play darts. The toilets are the best, and you can even get free toilet paper to take care of your needs. Even though you can't smoke inside the pub anymore, you can go outside like everyone else. Visit The Royal for a good time, and play music on the jukebox.
This pub is a great local spot, but recently we've noticed a strong smell of marijuana when we walked in, so we ended up leaving right away. It's a shame because it has the potential to be a fantastic local pub.
