Drunken Shrimp - Gulf Shores

Horrible. Don’t waste your money here. It’s a tourist trap. Charged 20% gratuity, made you buy their bottle water instead of tap water and said it was order of the health department. Went down the road and had no problems. Rude service. Food was over priced. Meals are $20 a plate quality of food is more like $10 a plate.

We were looking for a quick place to have dinner (with our dog) and we were in the midst of 'rush hour ', so our options were pretty slim. We drove by Drunken Shrimp and were a little pessimistic because it looked more like a bar and there were no cars in the lot where all these other restaurants were packed. I took a look at the reviews and food pics and we decided to give it a try. And I 'm glad we did. The food was VERY good! And the waiter was a character. Everything on the menu was fried, except they could blacken shrimp. Although it was all fried, it wasn 't drenched in oil. It was crisp and the texture of the fish and shrimp were perfect! And well flavored. One surprise with the onion rings was fried banana pepper rings. They were amazing!

Excellent friendly service! Amazing shrimp Po boy! Plentiful, lightly battered, crunchy shrimp spill over the large, toasted, pillowy soft roll that is slathered with mayo, lettuce, and perfectly ripe sliced tomatoes. The fries, hush puppies, and slaw are all on point! Our daughter named the gumbo 'the best I 've ever had! ' Our granddaughter loved the chicken tenders. We found the Drunken Shrimp in the spring of 2021 and made sure to stop by again in the spring of 2022!

So so so so yummy. Such a fun little place! The byob is such a cute idea and the food was fast. The food was so good and the coleslaw is literally to die for(made fresh everyday)! Mama Love, the owner was there helping make our experience the best. So far with our stay on the beach this has been hands down the best.

We met a lovely lady at the dog park today, and she told us about this place and said “you have to try the gumbo“. That we did, and we’re extremely impressed! The friendly staff gave us hush puppies to try, and happily chatted to us. We will definitely be going back as we are here for the month! Beautiful friendly people, and delicious grub!!!!
