We found this little tasca in Guimaraes by accident when the restaurant we wanted to go to was hosting a private party. The restaurant was chock full of local workers getting lunch. At lunch they serve 3 basic plates of the day for 7 euros and 2 executive plates for 10 euros. We ordered two of the basic plates which came with soup, entree, bread, beverage (we had wine and were served a liter to share), coffee and dessert. I had the pork loin and potatoes and my husband had a chicken stew over noodles. The food was plentiful and tasty. The waitress, in spite of serving 7-8 tables, and not speaking any English was friendly and patient with our poor Portuguese. We left full and happy! Maybe not 5-star cuisine but authentic Portuguese comfort food well-prepared and delicious. HIGHLY recommend!
