The service is fast, food good and ingredients fresh. One of the best fast food restaurants I have eaten at. Some eat in capacity but mostly take out.
This mall location shares space with a Cultures Fresh Food outlet and today it was the menu on the Cultures side that caught our attention. It is some time since we tried a Cultures for lunch in another city. At just after noon we expected the place to be busy but there were plenty of tables available. The Thai Express side seemed to be getting most of the attention though this could simply have been an impression. As a result we were quickly served and our selection of a Tuna Salad Club sandwich and a small mushroom soup rang in at just under ten dollars. The presentation of the sandwich was pleasant and although a little light on flavor to my taste, it was quite acceptable. The mushroom soup on the other hand was thin and without any discernible flavor connection to the fungi. Frankly disappointing. The location is convenient for both mall shoppers and those looking for a light meal. There were no washrooms directly in the restaurant but we quickly found them near the Food Court area in the mall. We assume the store's hours will match mall policy. Not our best experience with a Cultures outlet but then again the sandwich was fresh and nicely served. We may go back and try something else on the menu.
This unassuming Thai Express (which is right next to a cultures in same place) makes great food. I have not tried anything on the menu yet that I did not love. Sure it is a fast food venue but it is clean and tastes great. This is part of a chain and has been in Guelph for over a year now (could be 2 or more). I like Ben Than's up on the North end of town's Pad Thai better but this is a close second. Biggest draw back is there is very little seating so when it gets busy you might have to get your food to go and take it to the food court in the mall.
The Thai soup had potential, but things that should have been standard (and were shown in order image) like a piece of lime, spring onion, Zilantro, etc. that make the soup aromatic were MIA and wanted well over a Buck everyone for extra. How do I know when ordering that the $14 soup would be badly flavored and I should spend an additional $4 5 to fix it?! Spring hardly rolls half the size of a regular. Final Slap was the teeny tiny $7 Dessert 2 x 2 Box was NOT a cheese cake (white chocolate cheesecake with pineapple) as listed or had it any similarity to cheesecake as advertised. Summary: Spring roll delicious but tiny. Thai soup ok portion but tasteless. White chocolate cheesecake with pineapple No cheesecake over price and tiny. About Skip
I enjoy eating here on my way home. I never have to wait long and the food is made right in front of you, not prefabricated. I love the options they offer, like Cauliflower rice instead of regular rice. I also noticed that many of their dishes can be made vegan.
