I got a reuben that was just OK while my wife got a fried chicken sandwich that she really liked (though the coleslaw was terribly oniony, as a previous reviewer wrote). My wife 's mocha did not arrive until after the food, at which point she no longer wanted it (but we kept it anyway). You order at the register (like fast food), take a number and find your own table. They bring it, you eat, and then have to bus your own table. This place is a perfect example of why the concept of pre-tipping is just wrong. One tips based on the quality of what they received and the service associated with it. While the food was fine, there was practically no service. So, essentially, the pre-tip is a bribery attempt, Please make me a good sandwich, which may or may not happen. Had we known the place was practically self-service, we would not have tipped at all. We will be returning to Gualala, but not Trinks Cafe.
Food was great! Good portions for price. We sat outside on the patio and the view was amazing! Also public bathrooms in the back of building. If your in the area definitely recommend it!
Coffee and baked items were great. But ordered a biscuits and gravy breakfast that with coffee was $25. Turned out the gravy was served over the eggs and tasted starchy and bland. I asked if they could just make me two eggs and forget biscuits and gravy. No refund, etc. They said absolutely not. They’d charge for the eggs. I thought it was petty and would take business elsewhere.
An excellent find while driving the coast to San Francisco. If you wish a pit stop or food shop it’s a bit out of sight if you’re unfamiliar it’s worth setting into your GPS. Good food, nice wine coffee. But unforgivably no ice cream! Recommended.
Good food. Reasonable prices. Very nice restaurant.
