L'affacata - Guagno

Delicious! Coming from GR20, we've been reinvigorated here. I recommend!

After a GR20 derogation between the wave refuge and Pietra Piana. We descend on the west side of the Caracutu valley to the village of Guagnu. Arrived at this beautiful isolated village in the Corsican mountains. We were warmly welcomed by the owners of the Affacata restaurant. We shared the aperitif with them and then they offered us a delicious dinner. We spent a wonderful moment filled with generosity, exchange and sympathy. I would almost say that GR20 should be diverted and that the route passes through this small village. Because between the reception of the GR shelters and Guagno's restaurant, it's day and night. We were warmly welcomed by the owners of the restaurant l'Affacata. We shared the aero with them and then they concocted us a delicious supper. We spent a wonderful time filled with generosity, exchange and sympathy. I would almost say that the GR20 should be diverted and the route passed by this small village. Because between the reception of the GR refuges and the restaurant of Guagno, it is day and night. A thousand thanks and a good continuation.

We arrived in this village after more than 9.00 am on GR 20. And there we were entitled to a 5-star welcome from the family. The restaurant was still closed, but the owner's brother opened us to unwind. Then we returned to eat after we were installed in the cottage. The welcome was again fantastic and say dishes .... just excellent !!!! Finally of the real Corsica charcuterie produced by the family, a real delight. Then the main dish that puts you back to any hiker. Better than home! And to finish coffee with small alcohol offered from the region, frankly difficult, see impossible to do better. The whole having been able to exchange a lot of discussion on the region with dozens of anecdotes, a real natural, spontaneous moment of sharing, it makes a crazy good to spend such an evening!!! But it's not over .... having no means of transport to descend to plains, apart from our two legs and backpacks, the owner has very nicely proposed us to drive to Ajaccio the next morning. And again has a very interesting moment of discussion during the trip to Ajaccio or I had to fight completely; To pay for the coffee we took on our way with the owner couple. Thank you a thousand times you made us spend our most beautiful Corsica evening during our trip with my son. It's hot in the heart!

Great contact, nice welcome, excellent pizza. Too bad municipal staff don't propose it when you're in the cottage. Very good address.
