La Pasteria Chapalita - Guadalajara

I had a wonderful experience at La Pasteria. A delightful spot in a lovely neighborhood...the service was great and the food was even better! They offer a variety of pasta and pizza, but I decided to go in a different direction. Per the recommendation of the waiter, I had the tuna tartare appetizer and the short rib entree both were exceptional and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

This place was a solid choice for a dinner with family. There was a good wine selection, a good variety of food and the place was lively. I really enjoyed the Palmito Salad. The only warning I would give is if you're looking for something quiet, this is not the place.

I would definitely come again. The food was delicious. We had a prosciutto board which was sliced so thin, it was like a putting fluffy prosciutto cloud in your mouth. Then we had a pizza that was served on a round wood board that was quite delicious. It was a very nice presentation instead of getting it on a metal tray. It had grated parmesan top. The bottom crust was crunchy while it was a pillowy middle, yet sturdy enough to hold the perfect balance of toppings. We rounded our meal off with a capellini pomodoro with a little basil...muah! It wasn 't on the menu, but the chef was gracious enough to accommodate us. Finally, desssssssert! The tiramisu was fluffy, light, delicious and the lemon pay pie was amazing. It was refreshing light with a cookie crust and light lemon jam in between. The service was very good with multiple people coming to our table to check on us and to promptly whisk our dishes away. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. It was a little dark, but I could see why. It was intimate and it put you at ease. We had to use our cell phones to be able to appreciate and read the menu more easily, but other than that, we were able to appreciate our experience. Give it a try. You 'll thank me later.
