Rubi's Coffee And Sandwiches In Great Barr

Probably the best PB J sandwich I've ever had. The toasted rye bread that I ordered it on was delicious. The jam of the day was raspberry it did not disappoint.

Beautifully decorated, spacious and cozy, very good grilled cheese and salad. As others have said, service can be slow.

Food is delicious and coffee is good. I have two pet peeves: one is that it's happened twice that I told staff that there was no more soap in the WC and nobody went to refill it. Gross. It wasn't at the end of the day, either. Second, there are a couple of baristas who greet you with a shut-down face and who look like they hate your presence. Why work at a coffee shop if you don't want to interact with people? There are other labor options out there. Friends who are local and who were visiting are also floored by some of the staff's rudeness. Edited to add that the more I ask around me, the more people agree and even stopped coming here because grand majority of the staff's so disrespectful.

Makes Nantucket looks well priced. Perhaps less Time on antique aesthetics and 1-2 people instead of 4 could lower costs.

Coffee is good, but cappuccino in paper cup isn't so great (by the way, I asked about cappuccino to stay). The chocolate cookie was good, but chocolate chips are not so good. Can be very busy and I don't like rushes. I was expecting more...
