An evening quickly to forget. As a family of 4 we were staying in the area and decided to dine at Le Rivoli, based on good reviews and a great location. We checked out the menu and the dishes and liked what we saw it was not your run of the mill restaurant. The evening became a rolling fiasco, where besides aperitif and our bottle of wine nothing went right. Orders were taken wrongly, dishes were cold and recooked, a medium roasted duck breast arrived near raw, a wrongly delivered main course took ages to be replaced. Portion sizes are way too large, there was nothing cooked with any kind of finesse. This was pub food at best. On top of that sulky and snooty waitstaff. Obviously when your French is not fluent and mine is not bad you are already on the back foot. At no point an apology was made, nor concessions done come 'l 'addition ' time. Do yourself a favour walk down to the beach past the restaurant with a picnic and a few bevvies.... same view and much better!
Perfectly located with an incredible view, warm and welcoming staff and great great food. There wasn't much not to like about this restaurant. We loved both the Duck with honey and fig and the Lamb main courses both were delicious and cooked to perfection. It was a shame we didn't have the opportunity to return this visit but will definitely want to go back in future.
We were there in July, family with 2 teenagers. Incredible view, terrace direct above the sea, very very nice staff, and the food was delicious. After we discovered this place, we were going there two more times.
Thursday evening, restaurant 70% full. Waitress did not speak a word of English.The second waiter explained us the menu and specials. The drinks and first course arrived fairly soon. We ordered risotto as the second waiter's recomendation. It took 40 minutes for it be served. Risotto is served on a hot plate, rice should be creamy and food should be served while still hot. This dish was in room temperature and rice was dry. When I tried to voice my opinion the waitress who spoke English earlier pretended she did not understand a word I was saying. As I mentioned the restaurant was't that busy that evening, I don't any reason to serve such a terrible meal. It wasn't even that cheap.
