Pepe's Mexican Restaurants - Griffith

I visited this restaurant for a meet and greet, but I've been here many times before. It was quite empty due to the weather, but it’s typically very busy on a Saturday night. I ordered a peach margarita, which surprisingly had little to no peach flavor and barely any alcohol. My date had a cognac and coke that was mostly coke. The chips and salsa, which are usually pretty good, weren't up to par this time. However, the steak quesadillas were excellent as always. My only concern was that the price increased from $16 to $22. I'm not trying to be stingy, but it might be a good idea to update the menu.

I visited this restaurant for the first time before a concert, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The waitress was quite rude, and the atmosphere was uncomfortably cold—especially the bathrooms. To make matters worse, I received the wrong drink. The food was unappetizing, and mine was served cold. Additionally, they add a 15% gratuity to the bill, likely because the service is so poor that no one leaves tips. I definitely won’t be returning. I’m truly puzzled by how this place has managed to stay in business for 55 years.

The beef birria was acceptable, but it could use more flavor and less fat. The enchiladas were decent. The cheese fries were delicious, and the beef tacos were also quite good.

The minute we sat down we were greeted. We had fast and friendly service. We had our meal in less than 10 minutes after ordering and it was hot and delicious.

OMG! ! ! ! Where do I being, the service was wonderful. My family was taking our food to go, and really didn't know what to order, the young lady at the register was very nice, and patient with us. The food was great. I will return soon.
