Monteiths - Greymouth

While there aren't many vegan options available, this is a common situation in Greymouth, so we appreciate what's on offer. A few years ago, I visited and enjoyed a delicious mushroom burger, but unfortunately, that's no longer an option. On my recent visit, I tried the roasted cauliflower, which was really tasty, served with chipotle and jalapeño sauce, along with shoe-string fries and vegan aioli. I also sampled the veganized corn tacos, which were nice but not particularly exciting. There was a Thai salad mentioned on the menu that could be made vegan with cauliflower instead of chicken, but the dressing included honey, and to me, it didn't sound very Thai. Overall, it's a decent stop on the West Coast, but I recommend double-checking the menu before ordering.

It was good, but only 3 options on the menu and all of them more like appetitmacher, they were delicious.

As others have mentioned, the dishes are well-prepared, and there are a limited number of vegan options available. Unfortunately, the burger has been removed from the menu, but the tacos and crispy cauliflower were delicious. Considering it's on the West Coast, I’d give this place 4 stars! The menu offers a variety of vegan options. I ordered the burger, but the bun was quite dry. A helpful tip: adding aioli to the bun enhances the flavor. They used supermarket vegan cheese slices, but overall, it was a delicious meal, especially after spending a week on the West Coast. The fries were fantastic!

Few more options that when the last people reviewed and all substitutions well labelled on menu. Options currently include a grilled vege burger with quinoa/kumara/black bean patty, vegetarian pizza which you can sub non dairy cheese for, Mexican corn tacos (minus feta), Asian salad subbing out chicken for cauliflower or crispy cauliflower bites.
